Writing Workshop: What is a story, really?

We all know what “story” means, right?
I mean, they say storytelling is an innate human skill, our oldest method of learning and communicating. So we all what it is and how to do it, right?

Yes, and...
“Story” has become such a buzzword that’s used so generally in so many contexts, it’s no wonder even confidant storytellers scratch their heads about what story is these days! This workshop offers a simple, accessible way to talk about story – what it is, what it’s made of – and how to use these building blocks to craft new stories or remix old ones.

Whether you’re looking for an intro to story, a refresher, or some structure and inspiration to apply to your own stories, come play with us!

Monday September 21st, 5:30-7pm | Sliding scale $15-25, reach out if cost is a barrier!

This workshop is part of the STORY CLASS series, brought to you by your local Story Circus  Facilitated by Olivia Powell, founder of The Story Circus, experience designer, published author, & member of Columbia’s Digital Storytelling Lab.
